Introduction
The third Royal Rumble took place in Orlando on the 21st January 1990. Now firmly in the calendar, it saw a Royal Rumble match which set up that year’s Wrestlemania main event – Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior. Teased towards the end of the match, Hogan later eliminated The Ultimate Warrior to set up the match at Wrestlemania VI.
This match was the only Royal Rumble Match called by Tony Schiavone, who left WWF to go to WCW a few months after the event.

- This is the only Royal Rumble that Marty Jannetty out performed Shawn Michaels.

- Ted Dibiase set the Iron Man record at 44:47 minutes. He was the first man to perform in a match longer than a previous year’s match (33:00 in 1989).
