Introduction
The 1995 Royal Rumble was the kick off event in what is considered the weakest year. Of the 30 entrants, 10 entrants would make one appearance in this match and this match only (only the original Royal Rumble has more with 11), and a number of competitors were cycled through the match and never appear again.
The winner got an extra prize – Pamela Anderson (star of TV’s “Baywatch” and one of the biggest stars at the time) – would accompany the winner to the ring.
Although the actual match was easy to forget, the ending was one of the most memorable. Shawn Michaels only had one foot touch the floor with his elimination, since then and the general improvement of the athletic nature of wrestlers has seen people take advantage of this, most notably Kofi Kingston and John Morisson in later years.
Michaels was not so lucky at Wrestlemania, with him losing to Diesel in his title match.
