Introduction
The 2020 Mens Royal Rumble was widely considered one of the best matches in years, and actually was in the nomination for match of the year (albeit in a terrible year). In it, Drew McIntyre last eliminated Roman Reigns to propel him into the main event.
The early part of the match was dominated by Brock Lesnar. The World Heavyweight Champion eliminated the first 13 competitors (a new record in 30 man matches), often facing them alone. That all changed when he was swiftly eliminated by Drew McIntyre, who then went on to win the match.
The other great moment from the match was the return of Edge – who returned to the ring after a 9 year absence. Sadly joys were short lived. Drew McIntyre went on to beat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 36, a match that was held during the COVID Pandemic, meaning his Wrestlemania moment was experienced alone.
