Introduction
The 2020 women’s royal rumble was the third such occurrence of the Women’s match, and had a strong favourite going in. Shayna Baszler – a dominating presence in NXT – was expected to step up and compete at that year’s Wrestlemania. However, two other women had a larger impact.
Along with Shayna having most eliminations, the early part of the match was dominated by Bianca Bel Air, who along with Baszler set the most eliminations in a women’s match. But it was the Charlotte Flair – who last eliminated Shayna Baszler to claim her first Royal Rumble. She challenged upstart Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania.
Slightly overshadowed behind the excellent men’s match later in the evening, this match is well worth hunting down.
