Introduction
The 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble saw a returning Cody Rhodes – who last competed 9 months prior in one of the most brutal matches in many a year, last eliminated the intercontinental champion Gunther to take his place at the main event of Wrestlemania for the first time.
Gunther in particular had a strong showing, eliminating 5 of the field along with Cody Rhodes, and setting a record for the longest time in a 30-man match. This match also saw weak performances from the previous two mens’ winners Edge and Brock Lesnar, and a viral spot where Ricochet and Logan Paul collided in mid air above the ring.
