Introduction
The 2025 Mens Royal Rumble was an interesting affair leading into the match, as nobody was quite sure of the eventual winner. Usually there is 2 or 3 entrants that are predicted to win. In total, there was at least 5 or 6 viable entrants. John Cena, wrestling his last Royal Rumble, entered as the favourite, but CM Punk’s storyline of “never main eventing Wrestlemania” was another story they leant into towards the event. Furthermore, with a stacked field including 7 former winners, nobody was quite sure who would go on and punch their ticket.
In the end, there was a surprise winner. Jey Uso, a relative outsider, ended up last eliminating John Cena to main event the grandaddy of them all. Notable standout performances included a recently debuted Penta, Bron Breakker and Jacob Fatu. Surprises included the TNA World Champion Joe Hendry and Twitch Streamer IShowSpeed.
All in all, a solid match, really known for it’s ending which was a genuine surprise to the WWE Universe.
