About Cody Rhodes

The epitome of betting on yourself. Cody Rhodes made his first Royal Rumble appearance in the 2008 Royal Rumble, as he made his debut the year before as part of a tag team with Hardcore Holly, in a solid if unspectacular performance. Cody really came to his own in later matches, turning heel and joining Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase Jr. in the following year’s match – aiding Orton to win the match. Following the dissolution of the Legacy faction, Rhodes bounced around the midcard with solid performances – usually lasting quite a long time in the matches.

The first career re-invention was his babyface turn, joining with his brother Goldust in a tag team as they fought The Authority. Eventually that lead to his Stardust character, turning heel before leaving the WWE in 2016.

Rhodes left and became one of the brains behind the formation of All Elite Wrestling, eventually returning to the WWE in 2022 at Wrestlemania, before winning the Royal Rumble in 2023.
