Introduction

A Royal Rumble match that’s erased largely from history due to the heinous acts of the winner, The 2004 Royal Rumble took place in Philadelphia for the first time. The winner – Chris Benoit – set a longevity record in this match.

It did set up a number of feuds for Wrestlemania as well as the main event. Goldberg was eliminated largely by Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton was eliminated by a returning Mick Foley.
