Royal Rumbles

This page contains all information on the Royal Rumbles that have took place and considered canon. One of the most popular matches of WWE, it first took place in 1988, (though house shows had tester matches from the year before). The brainchild of former Intercontinental Champion Pat Patterson, The Royal Rumble has 30 (usually) participants and features new competitors enter the ring at timed intervals. Elimination occurs by throwing somebody over the top rope and both feet hitting the floor. The last person standing is declared the winner – since 1993 – have then gone on to challenge for a World Championship at Wrestlemania three months later.
